St. George's COVID Safety Protocols

COVID CHANGES: Update to the COVID protocols at St. George's:

Due to declining COVID rates, we plan to begin several new practices on Sunday, March 6.

· Mask optional

· Traditional method of receiving communion from common bread and cup with individual portions also available

· Return to singing more verses of our hymns

Please respect anyone who chooses to continue to wear a mask to church.

The Fairfax County Public Health Department reports the transmission rate on their website, and as of 3/7//22 it was "Moderate" or 80.61 cases per 100K of population for the past 7 days. More good news is that Fairfax City is "Low" for Level of Community Transmission. Keep informed by watching the locality numbers from the CDC's COVID Data Tracker HERE and encourage your neighbors to get their vaccinations.  Let's stay vigilant as we work together to do the work of the church in spite of the obstacles set before us!

Also see the Fairfax County Health Department's determination (click HERE). We will implement the responses appropriate for the local situation. This approach and these responses apply to all groups and all meetings held on the St. George's church property. Changes to these responses including additional tailoring is at the discretion of the PRG, the Pastor. Event coordinators may add to but not reduce the responses except with prior coordination and approval by the PRG. See the document, STGUMC Healthy Church Protection Levels 9.1
