“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” -Isaiah  6:8

The people of St. George's regularly offer God their time and talent through mission projects locally, nationally, and globally.

While any number of ministries support missions, a few of our key missional relationships are listed below.

FOOD DRIVE

We are supporting the Salvation Army’s Food Drive on April 30, Noon – 3 pm. with our neighbors at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You are invited to leave food donations at St. George's any time prior to April 30 or take them directly to 4911 Ox Road (across from St. George’s).

Please donate non-perishables (no glass or expired items, please):

• Canned fruit, canned vegetables, soups, and
canned meats

* Rice, beans, flour, sugar, vegetable oil

• Cereal and oatmeal

• Pasta and spaghetti sauce

• Pancake mix and syrup

• Size 5 and 6 diapers

HYPOTHERMIA THANK YOU

On behalf of St. George’s UMC and the Mission Team, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our Hypothermia Project this past February and March. I know it was challenging doing two weeks this year but everyone did a fantastic job. Our guests had great food, a warm, dry place to sleep and a sense of peace that only all of you could provide with God’s help. Thank you!

PRAYER QUILT MINISTRY

We hand-make comforting prayer quilts for church members who are hospitalized or are recovering from an operation or serious illness. All church members are invited to “tie-a-knot” and say a prayer over the quilt before the Pastor delivers them to the individual. If you’re interested in joining (beginners welcome!) or would like more information please call Kathy Heberle at 703-477-2377 or email her at  kheberle1@yahoo.com.

DINNER  MINISTRY

We prepare and deliver hot meals for individuals and their families following a family death, are ill, or are recovering after hospitalizations. Meals are delivered twice weekly for two weeks in non-returnable containers sufficient for the entire family with some leftovers. Allergies or other dietary limitations are considered. Meals may be extended for longer periods if needed. If you would like to join this ministry and are willing to prepare and deliver hot meals, or if you’d just like more information, please call Kathy Heberle at 703-477-2377 or email her at kheberle1@yahoo.com.
